6. Do I have to be a member to enter the 2024 Governor’s Cup Competition? No, however, to accommodate the increasing number of entries, the VWA Board voted to institute a $100 administrative fee. This is a once-per-year fee and will be waived for all current members wineries. Entry fees for all wines are $100. All non-member wineries will receive an invoice for the $100 administrative fee.

7. How many wines, ciders and meads can I enter? There is no limit to the number of 100% Virginia wines and ciders (meaning fruit, wine, concentrates and fortifiers must be 100% Virginian grown), vintage 2016 or younger you may enter.

Please be sure to review the rules changes in the entry process. Thank you for your interest and best of luck!

Please note that wines sent cannot be returned for any reason. If wines should be rejected due to mislabeling and/or not meet the delivery deadline of November 17th, your entry fees will not be refunded.

The competition, its service contractors, and any officer, staff member, sponsor, or director of the same shall not be responsible for the safety of the wines from theft or damage by fire, accident, vandalism, or other causes. The competitor expressly waives and releases any claim or demand that he or she may have against any of them by reason of any damage to, or loss of, any wine entered in the competition on its entry form.
